My husband is in the military and we are being relocated to the Miami area. We currently live in a nice suburb of Houston. We love it here! We are hoping to somewhat duplicate our neighborhood in Miami. We are both almost 30 with 2 young children. We want a good neighborhood that is safe, great community with tons of amenities and activities, and great schools. Our current neighborhood has tennis courts, 2 community pools, and a workout facility. Also, our 4 year old will be starting school next year so we are wanting a good school district.

Currently my husband drives about 20-30 minutes to work. We want to stay close to that drive now. We were thinking Boca Raton. We saw that it was about a 45 minute drive without any traffic so we are still considering it but would like other options. We are so overwhelmed with all the suburbs of Miami that we really need some good advice. The most we want to spend on a house is $350k. We may want to rent and if that is the case we could spend up to $2400 on rent.

-Great schools
-Great community with younger families and kids
-Safe neighborhood with a great community
-Not too far from the center of Miami
-No more than $350k to buy OR $2400 to rent

Ready for any and all suggestions!

Check out Weston, Cooper City and Davie. Much closer than Boca and the schools are on par (or better).
