Without a doubt, Orlando has some very heavy air.

Tampa is a HOT and humid city - way hotter and more humid than Lakeland, where we live now. Too many buildings, pavement, cars, and not enough breeze there.

Perhaps the further east you go, the better the breezes are in the summer. I take that back, central FL gets very little breeze.

I don't think coconut palms grow in Tampa.

They sure do in Ft Lauderdale and it amazes us that they aren't used for juice.

I lived in the Tampa Bay area for 2 years, and have a ton of family in South Florida. Tampa seemed to be far hotter than the East Coast. The Gulf is hotter than the Atlantic, and that has an effect on the "sea breeze". I lived over in Pinellas County, and it felt slightly breezier there than Tampa because it's on the Gulf (and surrounded by three sides of water) vs. Hillsborough, which is mainly on the Bay.

However, neither are nowhere near as miserable as Orlando or Tally in the Summertime, but if you're looking for cool, humid-free summers, Florida isn't the place to be.

If that's what you need check out San Diego (coastal not inland) or Santa Monica. Weather to die for all year round. If you can afford the stratospheric real estate, rapacious taxes, crushing business regulation, and out of control tort system.

Orlando is an oven in the summer, when Miami and Tampa have temps of 92-93,Orlando is at 96-97 with heat indexes around 110.Of course in the winter the temps are cooler.

Correct. It's like a trade-off. Hotter than hell temps in the summer for nice winters. Orlando may be a little cooler than Ft L in the winter, but it's hotter in the summer. I didnt know Tally got as hot as Orlando though. But I would bet that Tally's winters are colder, which to me, means better!!!

Tallahassee actually freezes from time to time during the winter. Much too cold for me. Plus the panhandle is hurricane central.
