When does the spring allergy season end in northern Florida? It's driving me batty this year. Nothing helps much.

Not sure about northern Florida, but this is our first Spring in Florida, and my husband found out he is allergic to the pine pollen ! Fortunately that season only lasted a couple of weeks in February.

The Oak pollen which is what most people have the worst issues with (me included) ends by early April typically.

It doesn't. Its pollen for the next three-five months and then grass mold from the rain, its one thing after another.

The OP was referring to Spring allergy season.

lynxville, are you sure it's not fleas? Florida is the flea capital of the world, and probably of the known universe. Our poor kitty cat has had a terrible time since we moved here. I have to really stay on top of it w/ daily flea combings and those prescription monthly topical treatments from the vet.

I don't think I'm allergic to the molds, so maybe there's relief next month.

Um isn't it the pollen that can travel in the wind that comes from some plants/trees that causes hay fever or in other words allergies for some people? Isn't t that the reason they give the pollen count so people can be aware that it might be a bad day to be outside if it bothers them?
Sorry just reread and you were referring to ""Spring allergies only.....but Spring will just get here this weekend so everyone is referring to spring allergies with end of April being middle of Spring allergy season.

As for the itchy animals, be careful on using too much flea shampoos etc because their skin dry out and they itch because of dry skin. My MIL's poor white poodle had the reddest skin under the dog hair because she bathed him every 2 or so days to keep the fleas off. Poor guy was in misery by the time they would go home. LOL Of course she would not listen to us and believe she was causing more damage. LOL

Spring for most of the continental US, we've had trees throwing pollen here since mid-February and tree pollen counts in the red zone (highest) since then. Our "Spring" in this instance will conclude in April which is when typical "Summer" pollen irritants such as Ragweed and varying grasses begin to get to their strongest.
