How did AVL remind you of FL?

Its nothing like it.

Mountains, friendly, eclectic, artsy, southern culture mixed with the grungy/hippy vibe, the architecture... not sure how AVL reminds you of FL at all, lol. But all good.

Is FL the hit n run capital? http://www.wftv.com/news/news/local/...-county/nnpdG/

Another one, this time in Maitland. 2 kids on skate boards struck by car. The car fled. Unreal.

^ That's terrible.

But good news, they caught the Deltona road rage guy. He seems like a young man with such a bright future. What a waste.

How can that many drivers get away with no insurance if the state requires it?
Aren't there checks and balances between drivers and the state/DMV?
In NY the second your coverage is dropped they send a red flag to the DMV and they demand your plates back or proof of coverage and if not your license and/or registration gets suspended.

Well, people here just keep driving with no insurance until they get stopped for moving violation, and then arrested for no insurance. And even if they did what you say, people here will keep driving with no license.

10 News Investigators: 25 percent of Florida drivers don't have insurance | wtsp.com

article from 2013 so it may be higher now, but usually the no insurance is a "notice to appear" or you have to go to the clerk to prove you have insurance usually they never do and then the driving w/o a license is the arrest-able offense although sometimes they dont even get booked for that.

That is the reason why the rate is so high is because the law is not enforced.

You folks need to look at the national crime situation. I recommend NYDN.COM which covers the entire country and abroad when it comes to reporting bad news. It may open your eyes to places beyond the reach of your limited information sources.

That would take effort. Another example of the Florida "anything goes" attitude.
