In other states you cause a crash like this, you're getting medically evaluated and your license is suspended for the time being.

And considering the amount of abuse there is in the "Pill Mill State", of prescription drugs it is quite probable that many drive under the influence of prescription drugs.

Nothing will happen to this woman, she has devastated so many people, I can't even begin to imagine how this woman who lost her husband and her baby can even process this.
We are the pill mill state. I didn't even think of this earlier. Who knows if it was part of the problem or not though.

For the person who repped me this evening leaving the "defend Florida" note.....

I am not defending anything or any place. I am trying show that these things happen all over the US and around the world and that it is not unique to FL. They continue to post their "bad news" agenda most likely because they dont like where they live or are not capable of living a normal American-style life. Instead they harp on how lousy life in FL is and most of them have never left the city/area in which they live. Kinda silly to do so if you ask me and I am more than happy to show them its not unique to FL. Also you have those spouting ancient information time and time again.
When I "call them out" on their purported facts they never reply which shows me they know they were incorrect.

You have no idea what meds, if any, the lady was taking. You are assuming she was high or something. There is no state that can command you to undergo anything but a give a blood sample to determine if the law enforcement people are correct in their assumption that a person is or is not under the influence of illegal substances and in some states a court Order is required and at least "probable cause" must exist.

Show some proof that backs up your assumption that "In other states you cause a crash like this, you're getting medically evaluated and your license is suspended for the time being."

When a police officer comes to the scene to assess the situation and create a police report after a car accident, drug or alcohol testing of the drivers is not standard protocol. They dont suspend your DL because you were in or created a crash. NO STATE DOES.

It is illegal to drink and drive if your blood alcohol level is over a certain point, so yes, you can legally drink and drive.

The "pill mill" thing is obsolete. Laws are in place to prevent or circumvent doctors writing scripts for narcotic drugs. The doctors involved have been dealt with accordingly. Please put that phrase to sleep.

Ohio, Kentiucky, state of Washington, and Oklahoma and others had the same problem.

This lady will be facing civil suits against her. A "wrongful death" suit will certainly be filed.

A question I have is was the baby properly restrained and was dad wearing a seat belt?

I've been watching the news by me lately(haven't really watched the news in a long time) and we have just as bizarre crazy crap happening here in the wonderful state of NY.
Baby daddy's killing their kids, tons of hit and runs(pedestrian and vehicular), drunk driving accidents, arrests, etc...car jackings, tons of armed bank robbery's, convenient store robbery's(with murders), white collar stuff like financial fraud, embezzlement, etc...gang related crimes and murders including a drive by where a kid was killed. Same **** different state. The list goes on and on.

Yep, a lot of people are moving to East TN from FL. Well here in East, TN in a very nice community we just had a break in and the residents killed in their car, in the drive way, as the men shot them to get in their house. FL is no different than any other State aside from more people and warmer weather and of course lots of beaches. People are still people.

Crime can happen anywhere, even in beautiful East TN- where many Floridians are moving to for sure.

We've had like 3 stories about parents killing their kids here in FL, in in less than a wk.

In the case in East TN, I bet the chances are very likely they knew the people. Maybe drug deal gone wrong?

Had a serial killer on LI like 20 years ago doing Ed Gein type of crap.
Making the masks, lamp shades, and stews and casseroles, etc...
There is also more recently the Jones Beach killer(s). By random chance after looking for a missing hooker they found bodies and body parts strewn all along a highway that runs along the beach. Still no leads. Another crazy thing here is affluent wives hiring hit men to off their husbands.
