So the girlfriend and I are going on vacation to Daytona Beach in July, and have a few questions.
First off, I am 25 and she is 22. We both live in Minnesota.

1) I've been looking at different resorts/hotels on the coast line. I'm looking to spend no more than $100/night there, for about 6 nights, and I've seem to come across a bunch of them. Are there any that you would recommend?! And certain ones in hot populated spots? Preferrably looking for a hotel with cool amenities (cool pool, cool stuff to do there)

2) What are some things to do in Daytona? We are going to go Para-sailing, and possibly find a place to swim with dolphins (she really wants to). We have those in mind so far, but that's about it. We don't mind traveling an hour or so to find something to do also.
What places/things would you recommend to do that would be fun? Stuff to do in the ocean/off the ocean. Which places to go to? Which places to eat/drink?

ANY information on cool stuff to do would be greatly appreciated.
(Money isn't a factor for things to do)

Thanks so much!
Jordan

You shouldnt have any trouble finding a hotel in July as its about as off season as you can get.. The drive up the coast road (A1A) to St Augustine has some picturesque moments and wandering around St Augustine's old town is kinda neet..

Not sure what you are going to find for under $100, but maybe if you do some on line shopping you will find one. We have been going to Daytona every Thanksgiving for the past 30 years for a car show and have stayed at a lot of different places, but the past 3 years we have stayed at the Bahama House and will NEVER stay anywhere else again.

The place is clean, reasonable, right on A1A and the ocean, and the staff goes out of their way to make your stay perfect. There is the usual complimentary breakfast (nothing special, but ok) and a complimentary happy hour with free cocktails and other drinks every evening. We also love it because of the underground, secure parking. I can not recommend this place enough.

Kentucky Fried Chicken - Fort Myers, FL | Yelp

Look up their reviews, there are about 700 of them, all positive.

Ummmm forgetting about Nascar? Big race in July so hotels fill up the first couple weeks. COKE ZERO 400 - Daytona International Speedway

OP if you like racing and even if the girlfriend doesn't....Daytona International Speedway has tours. We(all women-2 fans 2 not) did the shorter one-about 3 hours- and it was even fun for me-someone who does not really watch races. If you are there during the race week...they have some good fireworks, usually a concert, and lots of activity.

Take some surfing lessons?

Go south on A1A to Ponce Inlet Light House and the beaches there.

Do a day trip to Islands of Adventure or a Disney Park in Orlando area.

Check out the Kennedy Space Center.

Deep sea fishing?

Come to Inlet Harbor! I work there. Great beach bar. Check out Ocean Deck as well. I'd also check out the Lighthouse, the beach at the end of Ponce Inlet, travel to New Smyrna and check out the downtown.

Thanks a lot for the info! Really going to look into a lot of that.
And I checked the dates on the Coke Zero Race.. it's at the beginning of July (4-5th), we're planning on going on the 14th.

And another question. I heard July is a very rainy season for Florida. Is that true? Does it rain a lot at the beach in July?
