It's a bit funny though, because Vero already is "worse" than Port Saint Lucie, crime-wise, so Port Saint Lucie actually has a ways to go before reaching even Vero, let alone West Palm or Lake Worth. Port Saint Lucie growth has basically "stopped" at this point. Fueled by speculation, there's just not the influx coming in as there was. Even Haitians seem to be moving out (we had a family of Hatians on my mother's block. The kids were actually friends with my little brother). |

I would really like you to prove a mass Haitian migration into PSL, and even if there was, who the hell cares. They aren't all gang members. |

Also note that while PSL has an unusual 5.2 murders last year, I'm pretty sure that number includes that family of four from Miami or West Palm or whatever that was involved in drug smuggling that just *happened* to be killed on the turnpike within PSL city limits. Nobody said that. I said it would change things. I think the crime will rise up the coast as more and more ppl flee south FL. I dont think anyone would strongly disagrre with that statement. Plus, if I said I didnt want to move to PSL due to a lot of NY Jets fans or Patriots fans b/c I am a dolphins fan, and I dont want tv's polluted with non sense in every sportsbar throught PSL, that's my biz. ![]() |

"who the hell cares."
That's laughable man. A lot of people would care, whether wrong in ur eyes or not. |

Not that I think PSL needs anymore residents, but I just don't understand the logic that if you're concerned about "crime fleeing North," you're going to position yourself in a city that already has higher crime than one you're afraid is going to "change"? There may be plenty of other reasons why someone may not want to call PSL as a place to live. Fear about "crime" isn't one of them, until PSL starts to outdo its neighbors in crime. |

My examples would be relentlessly bland appearance, isolation from shopping and dining, and surprisingly bad schools. I consider low crime a plus to being there.

It's "per 100,000" people. There's more than 100k but less than 200k in PSL, so I guess that's where the .2 comes in.

Schools are a mixed bag. But I'm a product of those schools and turned out quite well, financially, career wise, etc. Isolation from shopping and dining is true, depending on where you are in PSL.... but again, anything Saint Lucie County and North isn't really a happening place to be.... and that's why there's less crime! |
