Yes PC is safe. It's no more dangerous to live in PC than anywhere else. PC is an armpit of a "city", and I can't wait to move, but I have never not felt safe here.

My husband is Russian and some of the nicest people I have ever met in my life are Russian. You said that the only people that would live here are "dumb immigrants", sorry, but I'm definitely not an immigrant. I was born and raised in Florida (Jax), and yes my husband is from Russia (but he's been in the US since he was 9 years old) and lives in PC, but he's certainly not dumb, and the ONLY reason we are here is for my husband's job. And as I said before, we will be leaving PC in August and neither of us can wait. Again though, that post was really rude and uncalled for, and quite frankly, it was pretty ignorant!

You are right about the ignorant post.
One of my favorite things about Palm Coast is the diversity of cultures. I've got friends from Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Honduras, Cuba, England, Scotland, Portugal, Ireland and Italy.
I love the melting pot and the exposure to customs from other parts of the world.

I have been keeping my eye on the real estate prices down there because I was and still am thinking of possibly relocating and that was one of the places. The real estate is getting cheaper and cheaper lately there, could it be the crime or is the market just ripe.
Thanks as usual, there is so much information to be had here.

Are you looking to move to the Palm Coast area? I mean, what about north east FL, like the Orange Park area. Orange Park is very nice, it is about 45-60 minutes north of Palm Coast though. I would never ever recommend that anyone move to Palm Coast, but that has nothing to do with the crime here. Palm Coast is just a crappy little "city". I would recommend Orange Park though. Specifically Fleming Island. The crime in Orange Park/ Fleming Island is very low, it's a clean, well set up area, with side walks, nice communities, friendly people, plenty of shopping, restaurants, etc, etc, etc. And Orange Park is just outside of Jacksonville, Fleming Island is only a 15 minute or so drive from downtown Jax, so you are close to everything without being in the middle of everything. But again, OP is about 45-60 minutes north of PC, and I'm not sure if you were looking to move that far north or not, but I figured I'd mention it.

I love that as well, I have friends (and now family, my in-laws ) from all over the world! I LOVE learning about other cultures, and spending time with people that are from other countries is one of the best ways to do that. I said my husband is Russian, but he was actually born in Ukraine. He lived in Russia before he moved to the US. He only lived in Ukraine/ Russia until he was 9 though. My husbands grandmother is going to be moving over here soon, her husband just died from cancer, so she's by herself now. But I get to go with my mother-in-law to Ukraine to help my husbands grandmother sell her apartment and move over here! I'm so excited to see where my husband and his family are from! She lives in Lviv, Ukraine, it looks like a beautiful place! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lviv

That is very true! Especially on Blanding! 17 and Wells gets really bad too! The roads really need to be wider, but I would honestly say that's the worst part about OP. And the traffic on Fleming Island isn't quite as bad, especially on 17 because there are more lanes once you cross the bridge onto Fleming Island. I love that area, but I am kind of bias I guess. I was born at NAS Jax, I spent the first 10 years of my life in downtown Jax and then we moved out to Fleming Island (Eagle Harbor) and that's really where I grew up. There are positives and negatives about every city, to me though, the positives way outweigh the negatives in OP/ Fleming Island, where as the negatives way outweigh the positives in Palm Coast!

Fort Myers = Crime hole of the Earth
Ok, I spent a huge fraction of my childhood in Sanibel, and when I had to start High School, I had to commute for 30 to 60 minutes a day (counting traffic) and I sure wished the mayor of Sanibel had built a high school. Fort Myers is really sad, I had several friends killed in drive-by shootings, and two by a mugger, and one by a sex offender. Also, why did Southwest Florida have to choose such a crappy town as it's main center. Some parts even look like a ghost town, and I think that's the reason why part of Day of the Dead was filmed there. Even more so, it's the only major city near Sanibel Island, so it just makes you feel sick when you have to leave the Island, knowing your gonna be driving in such a hellhole.
I can't take Fort Myers anymore, let's nuke it and rebuild it from the ashes.
