They're baaaaaack! The Snowbirds that is. Well, at least my neighbors next door are, from the UK and Pa. They both had Welcome Back parties yesterday. Fun. The ones from Pa. drove down on Saturday. I could hear their entire conversation from my lanai. He said they were staying until March or April. Uh, oh. They aren't Snowbirds. They are PERMANENT residents. Better get that Pa. van registered in Florida.

A false statement was made about the humidity.
What's more important, what makes someone uncomfortable, etc. is subjective.

You want to question EVERYTHING if it in anyway goes against your preconceived views of Florida. You don't even LIVE here. Even to the point of wanting to write to complain to the COUNTY CLERK about somebody you don't even know "getting away with" not claiming Florida residency. Damn. Get a life. MOVE HERE for damned sake, if you are so hell bent on Florida.

I was giving the temperature and humidity information for New York City on the dates you were here, acquired from local weather reporting facilities (which is the same source that radio stations use).
I haven't given any preconceived views of Florida in any responses to you. I'm just mentioning facts.
I never said anything about complaining to anyone. I said that the county clerk would probably be familiar with the Florida State Statutes and how the Statutes define residency for various purposes. I suggested that we query the county clerk in question to discover if they are indeed familiar with the Statutes as I reported them if you'd like to suggest that they're not.
I am moving back to Florida, as shouldn't be news to you. Not sure on the exact date yet, but we're headed back down there to house hunt beginning November 8.
But once again, I'm not cheerleading for Florida. I'm cheerleading for caring about facts as much as we care about our opinions.

I think people who are actually there experiencing the weather have more say about what it feels like, as opposed to another person who just looked at a website to get the weather.

What weather feels like to someone is different than what the humidity, temperature, etc. are factually.
Do you disagree with that?

All I know the weather these past two days are BEAUTIFUL and this is why I live in Fla. There's been no humidity, my windows open, no a/c in the car and I went to the beach and THOUSANDS of sand dollars washed up on shore... We're gettting another cold front this week that'll keep the temps nice and breezy and cool. Some might love the autumn weather up north, thats fine, but for me I don't care how many days you have of "nice" weather up there I love the winters down here just right and have no interest in snow or white christmas's, or leaves changing or anything of that sort. To me... paradise

I think this clarifies what TANaples is stating.. From the FL statues of Residency.
(4) Any person who shall have been or who shall be domiciled in a state other than the State of Florida, and who has or who may have a place of abode within the State of Florida, or who has or may do or perform other acts within the State of Florida, which independently of the actual intention of such person respecting his or her domicile might be taken to indicate that such person is or may intend to be or become domiciled in the State of Florida, and if such person desires to maintain or continue his or her domicile in such state other than the State of Florida, the person may manifest and evidence his or her permanent domicile and intention to permanently maintain and continue his or her domicile in such state other than the State of Florida

RMD3819...no, i'm not currently in the health field-use to be...my daughter who also is going to school for her nursing degree, currently works as a cna to pay bills...there's a hugh demand for cna's from what i gather...although i know that doesn't help your wife out any at this point...i do know that the Hope Hospice in bonita springs is always looking for RN's & CNA'S...wonderful place to work! i also come across quite a few ads for private duty for nurses if that interest her... i wish her luck in her career!
BTW...re: the ac bills down here...i've found them no different then when i was in atlanta...i keep it at 77 degrees and my bill is always around $140.00 for a 2/2 condo...
I remember visiting my husbands family in michigan one winter...horribly cold and consistant gray yukky skys and mostly dead or dormant foliage... couldn't wait to get back down to Naples for the awesome winter weather, blue skys and beautiful foliage!!!
