Sunrico90,
The primary reason for moving to Navarre was because the rental rates were a little too high for our budget in Fort Walton Beach...we looked at a nice place in Gulf Breeze, also, but as I've heard, the traffic on 98 to Mary Esther would have been extreme. We were very fortunate...we are going to be paying $100 less per month in Navarre than we are near Baton Rouge for a much nicer house with a double garage.
Are you wondering why we are moving to Florida in the first place, or have I answered your question?

Welcome!
Hey this is my first post but i thought i join this forum to learn more about the city where i now live. Navarre, although somewhat slower paced since i lived in miami before, it is very relaxing!
My house (which i purchased on the otherside of Highway 98; not on the gulf) was bought for 190k and was built in 99' 1842 sq ft. 3 bed 2 bath w/ office.
Navarre seems like a rapidly growing city, with many perks. One being right by the beach and small recreational parks for the children. Churches scattered throughout Highway 98 for all religions. As well as located 25 miles east of Pensacola and about 25 miles of fort walton beach. Im sure that when you move out here you will be happy!

You answered my question, I was curious the reason why Navarre over FWB. This also gives our forum members an idea of the cost of living and housing.
I do agree that HWY 98 is a pain to drive.
Thanks for the update.

Even though I won't physically be in Navarre until the 16th of November...Welcome!! We were very fortunate and found a 1300 sf house to rent on the north side of 98...about three miles from the Navarre Beach Pkwy. Only $850 a month, which is amazing!! Not to mention, our auto insurance is much cheaper...so is phone....it's half the price. We've been there quite a few times...living in Baton Rouge at the present time and didn't realize how close the panhandle was. I never guessed there was a place that beautiful in the United States. I am a water girl, though. Born in Minnesota around the lakes. Anyway, congratulations on your house...it sounds great!

Ditto. (I am a couple hours east, in Gulf County.) I missed the ocean the entire time I lived in Colorado.
I really did not know that there was such unspoiled beauty left on the mainland.
I will have to leave in June, but maybe we can buy a lot here.

Cil - Nothing compares to the white sand and aqua water!! Part of it is just the atmosphere...can't really explain. Mountains are beautiful, but they always made me feel a little claustophobic. (I was in Montana for about a year) I hope, for your sanity and happiness, you are able to buy a lot in the Navarre area!

Kimber, did you go through a particular website, or company, to find your new home? Just wondering. I'm renting for a year, before taking the plunge to either rent an actual house or purchase.
Thanks!

Have enjoyed 20 years in Fort Walton Beach, lived midwest, rockies, west coast and
must promote the clear water, boating and the fabulous white sand is mesmerizing.
Living on a centrally located waterfront acre has tremendous influence on my view of
the area. Health (and age) is forcing me off the waterfront but there is a wealth of
city & county parks in addition to the fishing fleet in the Destin Harbor to keep
us all in touch with our surroundings.
Our prices & sales have fallen off sharply, however everything is relative.
When the waterfront home sells for less my smaller bungalow will be less
and the tax man gets less, so it kind of balances out.
