2006 Florida Babies
We had almost 237,166 new babies in 2006, 226,219 in 2005, and in 2004 218,045. Even with the amount of folks leaving and the housing crunch we continue to grow. WE should be looking at 250K or more for 2007 if the trend continues.
This capture my eye mother age of 0-14 years gave birth to 353 babies

I was given a pamphlet on Watertown NY stats...just to give you an idea...they had the same stat on there for mothers aged 12-15, and in that town there were 173 live births in 2005. Kinda sick of you ask me. Guess the whole country is experiencing a moral decline. Unbelieveable. That is JUNIOR HIGH for cryin' out loud!!!! I still played with Barbies. Ouch. Just a point...not trying to hijack the original purpose of your post.

We are probably the only 'western' country that has increased its birthrate over the past 10yrs and is not sliding into stagnation like the rest of them. Take a look at Europe's stats, they are going to be extinct in a couple of decades. I think the most recent stat puts USA women at having 2.1 kids in their lifetime. Compare that to Russia where they are <1. I think having more kids is a healthy thing, but not IMO when the mothers are <18yo...

Our population continuing to increase, is going to make others want to leave. I think one of the major factors in Floridians moving away is the number of people --> traffic and congestion, crowded restaurants, increased crime and so forth. Even though we keep adding more people to this state, we are losing so many as well. It's a cycle.

With a population (2006 estimate) of 18,089,888, we are growing every single year...2000 actuals was 15,982,378. For 2007 we should increase by 500K....

My maternal grandmother gave birth to her first child when she was 13. This was in the early 1930s. Wow!

Perhaps, but like I said, more reason for others to leave (increasing population). I mean, wouldnt it stink if they kept on coming in droves like that to the panhandle? I dont live in the panhandle, but I believe it is probably the best of FL. As Floridians know FL (if you know what I mean). I hope it stays that way. As far as I'm concerened, most of S Florida is not what I would call FL. And the Central FL areas are coming up from behind, as it is changing here too. I hope some areas of FL can remain "FL-like."

Relocation to the northern part of the state will take place sooner or later. Is just part of life, we have a great location and a community that is well developed, so I don't worry a lot.
The areas that might get or are affected now are Destin, Panama City, Crestview, and maybe Fort Walton Beach because of the availability of services. If you can relocate to a small town you will be set.
