Ive traveled up and down I-95 several time with a Budget truck,Ive never stopped at those stations and nobody came after me either.

As for sleeping in a motel,make sure you have enough room to get in and out,Ive always requested a ground floor room where I can park/ see the truck from the window in a well lighted area, put the truck up against something such as a dumpster,car,truck or building etc, if you're towing a car with the truck,take it off and park it in front of the truck
Never had a problem.
