We are looking for a best place to live between Orlando and Lakeland. I am new driver very scared of driving highway, working and living in Orlando. My bf is also living in Orlando but he is working in Lakeland. His job is more stable than mine. We are consider to move to a place between Orlando and Lakeland. We are not interested in clubing, we put the safety, the cost and good for our kids in future the most. Please help! Thanks much!

I would all very much depend upon where in Orlando you're working, as it's going to be difficult to make suggestions otherwise.

The traffic between Lakeland and Orlando is HORRIBLE,and is a long commute. I am not a new driver and I would never make that commute. I suggest you get a job in Lakeland too and not commute at all.

Keep in mind that the most of the Orlando area attractions like Disney, Sea World and Universal are located south of Orlando along the I-4 corridor. A commute between Orlando and Lakeland involves I-4 and any slowdown in traffic is going to make for a very long commute. At least your bf would be making a reverse commute. I know several people who make reverse commutes between Orlando and Polk county so it is possible though certainly not ideal. They've also mentioned it is much easier than heading towards Orlando once you get past the attractions.
