Anyone live in Dunnellon?
Is there anyone here who live in Dunnellon? And what can you tell me about it?
I was visiting Citrus Springs and think on the way out I went through Dunnellon, which seems more West than Citrus Springs. I was surprised that Citrus Springs is only 15 miles from the Gulf because Ocala nearby is 60 miles from the Gulf! How does that figure?
Does anyone know how far Dunnellon is from the Gulf?
Are there new homes there as there are in Citrus?
How are the people?
And if you had a choice, which would you go for - Dunnellon or Citrus ?
Thanks for any and all input and info.

I live close to Dunnellon. My Mailing address is Dunnellon but I live on the River, in Citrus County...Go Figure....Crystal River is approx. 19 miles from here, but if you go out to Ozello, the gulf is there but thats a ride. From Hwy 19 in Crystal River it's another 10 miles out to the gulf.
I was a transplanted New Jersey Gal. We settled in Lighthouse Point down near Boca. I hated it.....I miss the snow, the change of seasons and everything else about Jersey.....Then about 30 years ago we built this house in Dunnellon, and used it as a get away....From the moment we came here I LOVED IT~!!!!!!!! I couldn't wait to move here full time. Almost 10 years ago we did just that........The people are friendly, and willing to lend a hand. I miss not being able to go to the store and buy what I'm used to. I have to travel to Ocala, or ask my son who lives in Lighthouse Point to do a grocery run at the Italian Store....LOL I finally found a GREAT Italian Rest. in Dunnellon......Pavarottis, next door to Kash and Karry......Check it out, great pizza, and dinners, great Antipasta.
If I had my choice I'd stay right here, in the country, I feed Raccoons, Fox, Turkeys (21) of them, all wild, of course the river is filled with Gators 12 footers out back, but they were here lonnnnnnnng before I was, so I respect them and try to be careful when I walk by the dock......My husband said "stop sounding so positive" we want to keep it "country" . Hope this helps.....

Stargazinglisa,
I live in Dunnellon & I love it. We have the Rainbow River nearby. It's beautiful & the Withlacoohie River and the Rainbow Springs State Park are right here. We live in Rainbow Springs (Woodlands). 1 mile from Walmart & shopping. More information, if you want.
