The 59-year-old retired transit employee had mailed his absentee ballot too late, he thought, Election Day he trotted down to the polls and voted in person. The only problem was that his polling place is in Staten Island, where he lives, while the absentee ballot went to Florida, where he winters. The Orlando Sentinel found that 68,000 Florida voters are also registered in Georgia or North Carolina (the only two states it checked), 1,650 of whom voted twice in 2000.

6.9 million multiple voters in 28 states, report finds Watchdog.org

RICHMOND, Va. Some 6.9 million Americans are registered to vote in two or more states, according to a report obtained by Watchdog.org.

I though this was in check with all the get picture ID's and other crazy demands regarding voting ...OH stop the voter fraud -- need to watch the snowbirds! Saw one in Fox news tonight say he pays taxes in both -so has the right to vote in each state,

Vote early and vote often. That's what we told everyone when I worked the elections. Of course here in Florida the Republican strategy is count the votes often (but only the Republican votes) :}

I don't think this is a new problem. Unfortunately, it would seem that states don't cross-check their voters' rolls, so that these folks often get away with voting in both places.

Living in Florida you see a great many people living here part time who like to play dumb when it suits them. I'm old, I didn't know!
