I am just wondering how people have gotten jobs in FL with a long distance job search. Were you required to fly (or drive) down to FL? Did anyone not have to fly down and just do a Skype interview? Do employers show any interest in long distance candidates? I do see that people are moving to FL based on a job they already have. I am trying to move to be closer to family but I don't see why employers would be interested in someone who is not living there yet. How do people do this? Thanks.

It's very difficult to do here and the job market is around 50% more competitive for professional jobs. Many relocate here with current employers or are in higher demand fields like IT or healthcare. It has pretty much come to the point where if none of those scenarios fits you have to make sure you have substantial savings prior to the move and look once you arrive, which is not for the faint of heart.
