You might be surprised at how difficult it is for an American to migrate anywhere. A lot has changed in 10 years. Unless you have about a half million in cash lying around to invest in a foreign government or your particular profession happens to be on the "A" list, getting a residency visa is pretty tough.

you might be right, I don't know. Most of my friends who have left the states were born else where so I guess it was easier for them.
How can you find out about the "A" list jobs for different countries?

I've been warning my mother about banks. She called me tonight, and said I was right. It reminds her of the Great Depression, she said.
Is there a way out of this?
As long as the Fed keeps trying to pull the purse strings we are sunk, I think.

It's time to abolish the Fed, along with central banking.

lost
I don't think it is going to get THAT bad. I think it will be pretty darn bad though. Good thing is, it will teach your kid about responsibility and what happens when it is abandoned.

I hope so, its kinda hard to have a positive outlook with so many negative things coming down lately. The one thing I do know is the problems are complex, and I dont know that the government has a good way to solve this,or that they even care to solve anything, once the term is up they"ll be relaxing in paraguay if you know what I mean.

This was written in 05,Seems to me the only people who weren't aware there was a problem were the ones in FL.Those people nailed it also notice how OVER inflated the prices were in FL back then compared to the national average.

More proof that home sellers are aliens
Proof that sellers are still living on a different planet.
1697 sf on a busy street corner in a community that is almost half rentals.
3 bedroom / 2 bath 2 car garage, built in 1976. No pool, no view, no gated community.
Vinyl siding over rotting wood - sellers never employed a termite company.
Roof needs to be replaced due to leak and water damaged walls will be painted over by seller.
A 2 bedroom / 2 bath on same cul de sac sold last June for $145,000.
Sellers bought in 1995 for $95,000 and are asking $239,000
For $259,000, about a mile away I can buy a brand new 4 bedroom / 2 bath in a new gated golf course community.
How do I tell these people who are selling their home that they are just plain NUTS ????

You don't have to, the market will. When that thing is still sitting there a year from now.
