Doggie friendly Melbourne Beach: A new ordinance would allow participating restaurants to let customers bring their dogs with them to eat in designated outdoor patio seating areas, will take a final vote Tuesday.

How will they control a large number of dogs barking all at once? I believe the owner will have to walk the dog.... Great idea for the families that vacation with dogs...

I think this is a great idea, I actually went to a place on Ft. Myers beach a couple years back that let me , and quite a few other people sit outside with out dogs and eat. My dog is not bothered by other dogs and doesn't even pay the time of day so I had no problems, she just laid there and took a nap, they even brought out a doggy water bowl and a little bowl of some chicken and white rice. It was very nice and relaxing. I think if your pet is well behaved there shouldn't be any probelms with this
