Wow. Tens of thousands of other people seem to have no problem growing gardens in Florida. And you know what, I think Florida might even be an agricultural state, that grows food and ornamental plants that are shipped all over the world?! Imagine that!

Maybe "Florida" isn't the problem with your gardening, eh?

4)-- Excessive amount of black wasps, that continuously live near the underside of your roof.

Do you own a broom, or a can of Raid?

5)-- Barely no forests or woods to walk through, and what trees there are around and near here is impossible to even walk through, (a horrible thing for a nature lover that tremendously loved trail walks).
Barely 'no' parks. And you can't take your dog anywhere (parks and other places do not allow dogs).
You have to cross a bridge, after a hurried and crazy drive to get to one, and have to pay $4.00 - $6.00 every time you cross over one, just so you can get to a beach.

And you think the rest of Florida is like this...why? I've got nothing BUT trees and National Forest all over the place, replete with hiking trails, beautiful springs, lakes, rivers...and beaches too, of course. You moved to SW Florida -- if you wanted forest, why move there?

See above. BTW, what color are the clouds in this alternate Florida in which you are trapped?

Seriously, there is NOWHERE in Florida that you cannot drive 30 minutes and be surrounded by nature. Did you try?

Well, **** happens. Thanks to El Nino/La Nina we have had very dry springs over the last few years, which is the reason for the wildfires. Wait a few years and it will change back.

8)-- People don't have any fun outdoors (every one is either in bars drinking, out sea fishing, or stuck in their houses). ... You can't do bonfires and you always have to watch your surroundings and where you are stepping or walking (because something might get ya on the ground. Example: variety of huge spiders, fire ants, snakes, excessive amount of mosquitos, etc).

So you are a nature lover that is freaked out by nature. Interesting. And again, where is this alternate universe Florida where people never do anything outside? Downtown Miami?

And also you might get attacked by an alligator if your too close to a lake.

Golly, I seem to be utterly surrounded by lakes full of edible fish. Perhaps it is I that lives in a fantasy world? Do you even own a map of Florida? What do you think all those blue patches all over the place are? Parking lots?
Scared of alligators? Jesus I had them as pets.

10)-- Your dog hates Florida as much as you do, he is afraid to walk on the grass outdoors (hmmm, could this be due to the excessive and beautiful biting insect problem?), and find he rarely takes the time to go to the bathroom often because of it.

11)-- Expect to be taking your dog or cat to the vets often to 'try' to keep the nasty and strong Flea problem half under control.

I use the monthy drops and don't seem to have any problems. Maybe the fleas in your Universe are immune?

12)-- Expect to hire some one to head to your house to bring in your plants into your porch or house (ones that need at least 4 hours of sunlight) while you are at work during the hours that the nasty storms come through every day, otherwise your plants (that need to be outdoors and need sun) will get destroyed during those storms when you are at work.

13)-- Own a large Pick up truck with a nice cap on it? ...Alot of the houses have garages that aren't made high enough so that you can fit your truck with your nice cap into that garage.

So checking before you bought the house or truck was out of the question then? I think I am seeing a pattern develop here...

14)-- Your neighbors don't come around and be neighborly, they are pretty much non existed except for when you hear fighting or yelling going on outside.

Yeah those weird sports cars really make me angry. And of course traffic and bad drivers are only found here in sunny Florida.

A) You are not in Jersey anymore, so deal with it.

35 years and I still haven't seen a bar fight, let alone a shooting.

Florida is hot. I know this comes as a shock, but it is close to the tropics. Despite the efforts of limpwristed Yankees to tow the state farther north, Georgia stubbornly refuses to budge.

25)-- Plan to get caught in downpour and lightening storms often. If you get caught in one when driving home from work or what ever, you "won't be able to see anything" while you are driving.

Damn rain. Someone should really do something about it. Then you can complain about the fires from the lack of rain 24/7.

26)-- Oh if you find some where to hike and you don't run across a poisoness [sic] snake or huge nasty spider, be sure to not run into a large female 'wild boar' or large pig who has babies with her (you can imagine what you'd be in for). (Do you own a rifle?).

Had four murders reported in 2005. Amazingly St Lucie county had zero. I'd still feel much safter venturing in downtown Sarasota and getting lost on a side street than in Ft Pierce, WPB or Miami..

Maybe i see things differently because out of 29 years in life i only lived in my own house for 4 of those years and not the same house.....i am an apartment person...guess i am below the average of all of the people who say they dont lock doors.............if youve ever lived in apartment complexes you know that locking doors should be the first thing you do.....if you say you lived in apartments and "never" felt you should lock doors then you must be oblivious
