Wow, I second that that guy's post made us look bad as northerners (I'm from Illinois, not NE, but still..) I plan on moving to Florida, and sure I am a little freaked out by spiders and scorpions but as long as they don't kill me, it's nothing I can't handle. Honestly I can deal with those little buggers better than winter. In all the times I've visited Florida, I've found plenty to do, love the scenery, and I actually love the heat (even in the middle of summer), AND the rain. What does that guy mean no lakes? Florida is full of them! Even if all of the things he said were true, that's why people need to do their research before moving to such a completely different place.

Thats nice of him to wait for you . Did it fly? I still havent seen one of those palmettos yet.
I personally don't even mind roaches. I actually think they are funny, and would just smash them. As long as I don't have an infestation (AKA my house is sanitary) its no biggie to me. Still, I am certainly aware that roaches exist down here, but Weston is too good for roaches .

I've also seen these while I was in St. Petersburg before. Only a couple of times, and yeah they gave me a good scare, but again, it only makes me jump once and then I'm fine. They're not going to ruin my life or anything.
