I had my house reappraised by the county and they reduce my assessed value by $27K, but only because I presented comparables....So do your homework and do research, but make sure you compare apple to apple....

Nene is right, do your homework if you ask for a re-appraisal. Like Riveree said it would raise hers. So you've got to be careful not to open a can of worms there.
I always would rather pay the taxes on their figures than risk an increase by having them poke around and say, Wow you should be paying more.
There's a good chance next years bills will be lower. Yeah right!
