Heres the thing...Florida was a great place to grow up. I had a high school right next to the beach, used to skip all the time. But Florida is an awful place for anyone over 20. Its a great state for those who dont really plan on doing much with their lives. You know, get married, get a 40K a year job, buy a house in the suburbs. Thats all its good for as the economy is solely dependent on crap service jobs and tourism.

I dont regret leaving but I dont regret my time there either. It was fun while I was young but when your a 20 something trying hard to really make something of yourself...its a terrible place.
Same deal here in AZ imo. Great place to live but the economy revolves around service jobs (tons of McJobs here...) and tourism. But if you can scrape out a decent living here it's great. Same way I imagine Florida (from my short visit at least)

6 month summers? You must live in north Florida. Down here it's more like 10 or 11 months of unrelenting, oppressive heat. It's kind of depressing year after year when it's 82 degrees and humid. In November. At night.

A lot of people down here love it but it's really beginning to wear on me. Thankfully I'll be out of here in a few months.

For you they must be, for me they're actually quite frequent.

That should be the third option in this poll.

Speak for yourself. Everywhere I've lived has been a lot better than Florida in just about every way.

Homer Simpson said it best when he referred to Florida as "America's wang" . I was raised in Florida but so glad I moved out. Never looked back. You could possibly pay me enough money to live in northern or northern central florida, but south florida where I grew up? Never.

Ha well FL is better than anywhere I've lived. And I am kind of struggling right now too.. but I'd rather struggle here than be in California or anywhere like that or up north. Plus I have nothing to go back to up there. Oregon is an armpit also in which FL is better than. You really dont know what you're talking about.

I don't know what I'm talking about? FYI, I'm not struggling now, and I didn't struggle when I lived in Florida.

You should just go back to your racist post and clueless comments until you're banned from this forum.

Where did you live to spend 24 years shoveling snow?
Here in Montreal the only snow i shovel is to do with the car as its street parking, this year i havent shoveled the car out once last year twice, if i lived in a place where i spent 24 years of my life shoveling snow i think i would have moved to Florida after the first 6 months.
