Every State has it's share of severe weather conditions. Weather may not always be a good reason to move from one state to another.
The earthquake quote is meaningless. It takes a 6 or greater to get your attention.Generally an earthquake wakes you up a bit early, but a bad one is very, very rare. The last one I can recall was early 70's.

I wouldn't leave FL unless it was for a job transfer, and in that case, I'd choose 1 or 2 places in the Carolinas. Other than that, I'd stay in FL.

Wasn't there a major one in San Francisco area in 1989 and just last year didn't the Napa Valley have a 6.0, too? It is sort of like the hurricanes....you tend to underplay them unless you happened to be there and have damage caused by them.

So that poster made a racially/ethnic comment which was prejudicial. People of that character should hang themselves and make it a better world for the rest of us. BTW, I am of Italian decent and knew damm well what the poster meant.

Moved to FL for 4 years then left for coastal NC for 7 years. Now, I'm moving back. Something about the palm trees and sunshine that I can't get out of my mind...
