Car insurance?
Hi all! I am moving to the Clearwater area in exactly 2 weeks and I read on the Florida Government website that I have to get car insurance and register my vehicle within 10 days from my first day at my job (which will be the 31st this month) and I was curious as to what the price range down there is for insurance because I'm sure it's different than up here in WI. I am just looking for liability and I have a clean driving record. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I find it to be very inexpensive, but it can be different from person-to-person of course (driving record, type of car, credit rating, etc.).
Maybe you can call for quotes and see?
I've been using Progressive now for a couple of years and I've been very happy with them - no intention to switch.

It can be pretty cheap just having liability. depending on the type of car you have of course and driving record. For example, we have 2 cars (1986 and 1998) with liability only and clean driving records. we pay an average of $400 a year for each one. Call around for sure because your rates can vary by a few hundred dollars with each company. I find myself switching every 2 years or so and each time saving $200 or $300 a year.

Location also factors into price. When I moved from Miami to Tallahassee my insurance dropped in half. Then when I moved back to Miami with the same car my insurance doubled in price compared to Tallahassee.
Maybe someone near the place they are moving to can give costs.
