I am a careful driver tho, I stick to the limit so if a careful driver has no insurance this is better than a crazy driver not having insurance sureley! I have had one collision in 7 years of driving (ironically this was in CA).

Driving sensibly will reduce the chance of you being pulled over but when you are pulled over that insurance certificate will be asked for.
Why not just get insurance?

I'll certainly look into it, tbh It would be better if I didn't drive. If I end up living on South Beach (which is my goal) then I won't need a car! I'll miss having the freedom of a car, but given that people hate driving in Miami i'll doubt i'll miss actually driving there.
