I currently reside in Charlotte, NC And applying for a job that will require relocation to Florida. The location would have to be centralized due to the amount of traveling throughout the state. I want to know where you you would suggest for a 33 yr old single, well educated, no kids, African American female that is safe, well diverse and have the ability to have a social life. I've lived in Atlanta for 5 years and Charlotte for 3. So I'm looking for an area where I can network, meet some down to earth like minded individuals, nice dating scene and I can't stress safety (I've been to Florida (Jacksonville) a long time ago, but that is about it.

Thanks for the advise

The Tampa-Orlando-Daytona corridor along I4 is about as centrally located as you are going to get. About equal time to Miami/Tallahassee. I would recommend you start looking along there. Tampa is diverse, as is Orlando. Plenty of stuff to do. Beyond that, come down and rent an apartment and then start networking, etc and see where you become comfortable.

There are several areas in Orlando that would be a good fit, I'd suggest looking there.

I'd recommend looking on the extreme SW side of Orlando (around Celebration) if you're going to be traveling for work across the state. I-4 traffic is horrible in Orlando and is going to get much worse with the major construction project which will be underway for several years. On that side of Orlando you can skirt the city on either the 417 or 429 to go north or east, be in close proximity to the 528 which goes due east to the coast, have easy access to US192 which will take you to the FL Turnpike for trips south and you'll be out of the major traffic westbound on I-4 until you reach the Tampa metro.
