It happens too often in South Florida and IMO they don't broadcast it/alert the public as they should.
(It's usually a very small article in the paper or on the local news.)

HELLO!
And how is this the fault of new home owners in Florida?

While I'm not going to be one of those *locals* who tell others not to come here or to GO HOME -- I would like to explain something very simple:

If everyone who wanted to move here to escape whatever it is that they want to escape from, Florida is going to become exactly what you left behind! Yes, we have nice beaches, but not for long if everyone comes to live on those beaches! Yes our crime rate is lower than some states but not for long if our population takes a sudden increase, like now! Yes we have an abundance of water sports and those waters are going to disappear when you come and build your home on that protected reef or beach!

We have protected lands and great wildlife but that subdivision your home was built on just forced hundreds of small aquatic animals like turtles, lizards, snakes and alligators that was living there to relocate to another hood where it's chances of survival are slim to none!

I don't know how many threads have been started by locals explaining (and complaining) how those wanting to move here should "prepared" and "have a job lined up" and "respect the locals".

You want to live the American dream on the river or lake or beach in your little scarface mansion and all is just dandy? Your 6 figure job will support you now and during the next recession, and the next, and the next? Your multiple kids will be happy and go to a wonderful high ranking school where all the teachers truly care? You want to walk leisurely every afternoon on the beach with that Corona watching the blue ocean change colors?

The bottom line is wake up! Stop moving here and causing problems for us locals! Move here and be a nice person and respect the Florida way of life. If you want to complain and act like you are better that us then bon voyage and get on the next flight back to New York or wherever it was you came from. We are fine without you, and we were here long before you rolled in to town, and we will be here long after you are gone.

Welcome to Florida!
Last time I checked, we can move anywhere we want. Since when God designated you as a representative for Florida? Man, shut up.

IMO, I think Florida is a safer place to live than a lot of other places~! Oh yeah, I know all about the crime you do have, and who doesn't have crime. But y'all have more police protection that some cities~! What is talked about here of places not to go like Riveria Beach, I think it's been pretty safe whenever I have been there. Then again, I've been there and even on the beautiful beach they have there~!

Where so you live?

Also, please dont give the impression that RB is this great, safe place. It's not - I dont want others to read that and go there w/o being very cautious.

I know RB is not that safe and anything can happen anytime of day. Looks at the daily local news and sometimes the locals there report "how they want to get the hell out"~!
