Pedophiles are everywhere, and not Florida specific

Florida has more sex offenders per capita than 90% of the remaining states. It's also lax on punishment as well as living and work restrictions last I checked, though I suppose those things could've changed in the past few years.

According to the Parents for Megan's Law website, Florida ranks as #9 out of the top 10 states. Of course, this is subject to a variety of factors e.g., local and state laws and how well an area tracks registered sex offenders. Here are the top 10 states with the highest number of registered sex offenders per every 1000 people:

1. Delaware
2. Wyoming
3. Oregon
4. Arkansas
5. Michigan
6. Wisconsin
7. South Dakota
8. Minnesota
9. Florida
10. Colorado

I think the whole problem is that pedophilia and assaults and or abductions and YES killings..somehow are repugnant by most everybody...BUT Judgements against them varies from state to STATE.. Some get designated for rest of their lives as Pedo's..other who actually kill them including parents or guardians of those kids often get some sort of pass..Like out in 5 years ( minus time served - good behaviour) without parole then are enabled by the system to travel State to State to carry on as IF nothing happened..Sentencing for victimizing Kids is far too lenient..as the same crime would be far more punishable if the victim was deemed "Important" or "celebrity"..I just shake my head how kids seem less important or unless deemed important for a particular Prosecution..gets tried at a higher felon charge....Even then Judgements are far less....

Case in point..Stealing something from a Store ends up with multi years sentences/ plus conviction record.. but somehow Pedo's fall through the cracks.???..Yet anyone being stopped for tail light malfunction often leads to Death Penalty without the advantage of a trial...

It appears you're correct. As I admitted that I hadn't looked in some years, I did a quick search and I see that Florida's civil commitment law was expanded in 2014 after outrage over repeat offenders.

Thanks for motivating the search; I'm pleasantly surprised for a change.

Just like a lot of other things, pedophilia is a year round activity in Florida. The nice weather makes hunting easier.

I kid, of course.

There are 4 or 6 less populated states with more. Alaaka is number one.

State population has nothing to do with this.
