I am looking into moving and my bf can get a transfer within his company which is located in Bartow. I have been researching, rental costs, school & crime rates but would like to hear from true Floridians. I have children ages 8 & 10 so of course activities for that age are important also. Thanks

Polk County/Bartow in general isn't the best place for schools which are rated near the bottom of Florida's school districts. If your BF can deal with a 30 minute commute I would very highly recommend considering the Lithia/FishHawk Ranch area in neighboring Hillsborough County, which has A-rated schools and tons of activities for kids in a more family-friendly area.

It would be helpful to know your budget. Some desirable areas have added costs and can be quite expensive.

This.
My mom and sis lived in Eaglebrook (33813, Lakeland Highlands) for years, and it was wonderful.

I have to second and third Lakeland Highlands. It is a beautiful, family friendly area and a nice place to live.

Do NOT live in Bartow - that place is a pit....
