Default New resident in Northport, FL and who says jobs are scarce here? My cousin found one for 14/hr to start.

I just wanted to let people know that from all on hear on this board is there are no jobs and low paying in Florida. My cousin found one at Amscot financial for 14.50/ hr to start, with no experience and no college education. I'm not sure if this is a good company but they are growing and have several location s around Florida. Anyone know of amscot financail and why do they have recruiting events everymonth? Is it a bad job, for 14-15/hr and handling cash it cant be that bad right? Take care.....

Thumbs down Amscot Financial

$14 an hour for a job requiring no education, no training and/or no experience? if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.... Why would any employer pay a superior entry wage for a person with minimal qualifications, when there are thousands willing to take the job for considerably less?

Amscot appears to be a "financial services group with highest fees" that attempts to establish a clientèle base of those with poor credit. They are growing at an unbelievable rate, seemingly in direct correlation with rising Florida unemployment. Which brings me to your cousin.... what exactly will he be doing for $14/hour? Will he be paid based upon monies collected?

Your post leads others to believe that $14/hour entry level jobs are readily available and a reason to relocate to Florida (for well paying jobs?). It is irresponsible to encourage others to come to Florida based upon the premise that your cousin found a job that pays well... when the economic environment is the exact opposite.
