I just brought a new car in California. I know all the new cars in CA only have a temporary registration that gets tucked away in the corner of the front windshield. Now I have to drive my car, moving to Florida and I can not wait until I get the formal tag. Can I do that? Will I be stopped by the police since I don't have a tag on the way to Florida? what can I do for that...

Yes you can as long as you have a valid temporary tag. But be prepared to be stopped a lot!

You should stay in Calif or 6 months, Florida will make you repay the sales tax if not.

As far as the temp tag goes, if it's not expired any other state should have to honor it.

Visit the FL DMV site........sure you'll get the most reliable answer there. Don't try to circumvent the system.

You'll be stopped no matter what ...old, young...you may not be aware of the
marijuana paranoia...the cops think you are transporting it.

Coming from California, I think you should be more concerned about the humidity, bugs, storms and culture shock, if you ask me.

Just put a big Jesus Saves, I Support the Police, I Support Our Troops, an American flag, and NRA bumper stickers on it. You won't have any problems. Jeez, it sounds like my neighbor's car!
