Here's a quote on Insurance for you
As some of you know already, we sold our home and are closing next week.
We got hit with Hurricane Charley in Aug. 04. Our insurance went up about $350.00. We pay apprx. $1400 a year. The new owner is getting quotes for the insurance of over $3,500.!!!!!
This is why we are getting out of Florida. Let's see how the new Governer-elect is going to fix this problem. I don't see any help in the future here for the insurance crisis.
Do your homework first before buying a home here. Even the taxes are going up for the new owner. It's terrible.
They can afford it, but they weren't expecting it to be so high.
Don't listen to people that tell you it's affordable here.
It isn't anymore. You need a really great salary to make it here in Florida because if you come down here now and think it's going to be paradise, think again.

That's the best way, come to Florida for a vacation only or just to board a cruise ship. If I had my way insurance would be even more expensive. That would scare off the speculators for sure!

I've seen those commercials when we go vacation in naples, and no we are not rich and I'm sure we would probably never fit in anyhow, but I love the area, the gulf, the palm trees the gorgeous plants and we always do the casino thing. But we could never afford it.Oh well

Actually this is for real. I was looking in the newspaper and most of the new communities in south Florida are around half million
Hurricane insurance is scaring people away. If your rich and can buy with 100% down you can forgo hurricane insurance

Im confused. Florida has much higher insurance and house prices. Thats their prices. The developers get the land for a good deal in Georgia and construction costs are less as well.

Florida is doing something very wrong
Ya see, if you have all these more-ons running the state, that's what's going to happen. High insurance, high home prices, bad salaries for the workers.
Maybe they should start taking advice from Georgia politicians.
