Interesting article.

Florida's shameful neglect of public schools | Bradenton Herald Editorials | Bradenton Herald

Then again, these days, it seems to me like putting children in public school is tantamount to child abuse.

However, I did see an ad for a public k-12 online curriculum, which I thought was a great idea. Keeps the kids away from bullies, perverts and gangbangers.

There has been a series of articles about a cluster of Pinellas County schools, primarily minority.

Conversely, following Katrina, New Orleans has pretty much closed its public school system and moved to charter, private and parochial schools. The great bulk of the children are minority and have scholastic improvement has jumped markedly.

I pulled my daughter from public school after 3 weeks into Kindergarten. Besides the horrendous common core I didn't like what they were sending home and quite frankly she didn't enjoy it.

I gave the public schools the benefit of the doubt and sent my son to Kindergarten there last year. It was okay at best. Now he's in 1st Grade, and I have no doubt about it: He's going to private school next year.

Watch how the ratings on schools are set up. They look at dollars spent, how, they follow Common Core, etc, not necessarily how they actually educate the kids.
