I don't doubt that, actually.
Just making a statement that pertains to my personal profile. It might have to do with my direct concentration as well as my particular location.

Since moving to Florida the number of positions and quality of positions in LinkedIn emails is poor. Florida has a tiny tech market. If you are in the tech industry and don't take your job with you, there isn't much here for you.
I have a different experience but it makes sense that DC, NY, SF will have a lot more activity than in most of FL.

However, there are tech companies and tech jobs here. There is probably also a lot less competition for those tech jobs than say in Silicon Valley so it can work both ways if you're a top candidate.

Florida market for healthcare jobs is generally very good and often pay more than the Northeast. Either way, healthcare is a booming market all over, one of the few fields left that will usually guarantee a high five figure to six figure income no matter where you live.

It's true that cities like NYC, Boston, DC, SF, LA have more higher paying jobs, but those jobs are still quite hard to come by. These days you need to go to a top college or have the right connections in order to get well-paid jobs in big cities. Even in a city like Houston, where the living costs are lower, many of the higher paying jobs are occupied by Ivy League and Little Ivy graduates.
