Yup! I live in a very (for FL standards) established area. Everyone's house is pretty standard (tan, white etc) and someone came in and bought a house and painted it........... PINK.

Lots of planned communities have a list of allowable colors - mainly, grey, tan and other neutrals. People in a single-family with no HOA can paint different colors. You probably saw houses in a single-family neighborhood.

Awesome. Glad you like your pink house. And that we're not neighbors.

If you live in Coral Gables, houses are to be of the same color, it ain't yellow though. I mean this is a city that doesn't have street signs but stones laying on the ground with names. I believe there are no bubba trucks allowed either. Men have to wear shirts outside especially when they are jogging.

Now the Wynwood area of Miami , there is every color imaginable.

There's a house in Venice at a fairly prominent corner and it is painted purple!

I personally love houses to be painted every vivid color imaginable - that is what I love about tropical places. I despise dull gray, tan, beige etc. or anything that looks alike. But then I am an artistic type person who feels alive around color. I am glad to live in an eclectic waterfront neighborhood where all the houses are different, and no Nazi-esque HOA.
