I came across this article by accident, and it lists many places I have not been to yet. I bet very few, if anyone here, has been to all of them! Check it out, and let us know which ones you've been to and what you thought, or list others that are worthy of a visit! According to the list, Florida has over 160 state parks, which was not something I knew.

So much beautiful land, so worthy of saving, and of spending some quality time in...

We have been to a few of the parks mentioned. I hope DeLeon State Park is not one of the better ones (it is in the list). As far as I can tell, it was a tourist trap that got turned into a state park after the owner stopped making money with it. DeLeon SP has two claims to fame a spring that connects to a wild life refuge and cook your own pancakes. I wanted to see the fiberglass Ponce DeLeon with his arm around a fiberglass bikini babe statue, but now you can only see the statue on postcards. DeLeon State park is a nice place, with live oaks, spring, a nature trail and rental watercraft you can take in the wild life refuge but the gritty pancakes and cheesy legacy somehow lessens it.

Thanks for posting that. There are a few I'd like to see. I've been tubing at Ichetucknee a couple of times, been snorkeling and diving a Crystal River, and have been to Fort Desoto many times. All are beautiful, natural, treasures and worth a visit.
