You can tell from that picture that those were wood-frame homes. Anything built in Florida will be concrete or concrete block, usually reinforced with rebar if it is anywhere near the coast. The wholesale devastation that hit Louisiana and Mississippi shouldn't happen in Florida.

Size:  13.5 KB Having said that, yes, I am actually looking at a townhome across the st. from the ocean. But you should have a good evacuation plan.

I suspect insurance is pricey, but you should be able to find it. Like was said - you can get insurance on a nuclear site!
