Default Wanting to relocate to Hatings, FL

Hello! My husband and I are interested in relocating to Hastings, FL, with our 3 children. Could someone offer some info/opinions to whether or not this is advised? We REALLY need an unbiased view!!! We keep going back and forth! I am a nurse, and my husband owns a construction company. Is there a good job market? How are the elementary schools? My daughter will be in 1st grade this coming up school year. My last and final question would be....how is the childcare facilities in this area? My parents currently babysit my children, so daycare will be a first for them! (That's kinda scary!!!) Thanks for any input you may have!

Hastings is mostly a agricultural town. Potatoes used to be the major crop. In, fact the HS football team was called the "Hastings Spudsters". There are lots of migrant worker shacks around the town.

I think there are plans for future development as lots of the growth from St Aug has flowed that way. Several developments were to be started in the area but with the housing crash all that is off.

Your best bets for employment will be in St Aug or NW St Johns county but land is expensive there.

For cheap land in St Johns county try Flagler Estates
