Between the south end of Sarasota and roughly the Punta Gorda bay area, is the notion of a snug, quiet little bungalow off the main drags, with trees and within walking distance of the Gulf or Intercoastal only a quaint fantasy?

Ideally, I'd want to settle near Englewood. By affordable, I mean a year's lease not above $1000 a month for 2bdrs...
