They're remodeling the three remaining stores into higher end prototype stores with an eye on how well they perform against Publix. Worth noting the company still owns/has lease rights on a number of closed Albertsons locations throughout the state.

Cool. I used to enjoy their fresh sandwiches. Pretty good grocery chain.

Interesting. Sprouts is coming too, or I think they are already in FL. It's good to have competition.

No, Sprouts is not in Florida yet, there is one near me out here in Petaluma, but it's a 20+ mile drive, Whole Wallet is right downtown.

They are all over the Atlanta area, I can see them being popular in South Florida, in Wellington there is a Whole Foods and The Fresh Market within a mile or so of each other. Out here though in CA, the produce is a lot better, less expensive and a great selection at non chain based markets and organic is common.

I worked for them when I lived in LA. Good company and good stores.

Any competition is good. Publix sucks with their outrageously high prices.

I have spent plenty of time in Sonoma and didn't notice any difference in the quality of the produce. It's generally all shipped from the same places anyway. And during season we have lots of local growers and options, also. I can think of 5 good farmers markets within just a few miles of my house.
