Sometimes the weather is comfortable and sometimes very uncomfortable. Just like anywhere else I would assume.

We live near Crystal River, in Citrus County. Central, on the West Coast. I'm a native that grew up in Ocala, but lived in CT for many years. We chose CR due to being on the West Coast, school system, and proximity to family. Citrus County is more rural but we like that. After living in a suburb of NYC we were looking for some space. We live on an acre, in an equestrian community, are close to beautiful parks and crystal clear springs and yet can be in Tampa within an hour & a half. We like the the feel of CR as well. It's on the water, plenty of good seafood restaurants, and a small town feel.

We moved to FL from Fairfield County CT last May. From you're "NYC suburb" description, I'm guessing that's the area where you lived in CT as well. Moving away from the NYC/CT area was the BEST thing we have ever done. Should've done it years ago

We live in Pensacola. I spent time here and in Jacksonville back in the late 60's while in the Navy. We wanted someplace warmer in the winter than Northeast Oklahoma and wanted close access to beach, fishing and Interstate. Having the Blue Angels here is a bonus.

You guessed right! I lived in Darien, Greenwich & mostly Stamford for 24 years. The only things I miss are some friends and the Fall leaves. Very happy to be back down here. My kids however, will disagree. They are "city" girls but hoping a few more years in Florida will change that.

Jacksonville - I came her for a job after graduating college in New York. I would like to be in Tampa/St. Pete eventually, but for now Jax is fitting me just fine. I did not like it much at first, but it has grown on me as time has passed.

I am a Jacksonville native myself and as you have figured out Jax is a big naval and industrial city. It is not a bad place to live and work but retiring here, I just don't see it, there are tons of more desirable places to retire in this beautiful state
