You know you are in Florida when everyplace you remember as a kid is now a shopping center or a condo.

You know your in Florida when:
All the traffic is stopped so someone can move a turtle off the road.
And sandhill cranes have the right of way...

When you've attended a festival for an endangered species or food that no one else outside the state, sometimes the county, has ever heard of. (Burrowing owl, swamp cabbage, skunk ape, etc)
When you have a permanent v shaped tan line on tops of your feet from wearing flip flops year round.

You know you're from Florida when:
You go to a nice restaurant, half the women are wearing strapless dresses, have white bikini tan lines showing, and nobody gives it a second thought.
When the highest point in the county is the landfill.
You didn't have to learn how to parallel park on your driving test.
You and your friends ever "stole" citrus off the cranky neighbor's trees to eat while playing outside.

You know you are in Florida when:
They tell you they passed the portability Bill and you don't have a clue what they mean by that, and neither do they!

If you've ever stopped on the side of the road and made a run for the citrus fields because the nearest rest area was 35 miles away.
If you've ever bought hot boiled peanuts, corn, fish or shrimp off the back of a pick up truck from a lady with a dog on it's last leg.
If you ever swallowed a gallon of sea water because you thought you were brave enough to go swimming with an hurricane headed you way.
If you ever ended missing your swim trunks because of your above listed bravery/stupidity.
I could go on and on......

People (obviously tourists) are wearing tank tops and halter tops despite the fact that it is 55 degrees!
Guess what, people, 55 degrees is 55 degrees! We get that you are on vacation and want to wear your new clothes, but don't be an idiot!

When you see a stream of British tourists all sunblistered and red, wearing brand new Nike sneakers and bright white sox - oh yes and an English soccer club shirt!

My point exactly, just because you are in Florida doesn't mean that it is halter top weather.

He is here now on Holiday, as they say across the pond. He was in the pool last NIGHT. Ok, I know the pool was heated, but it was in the high 50s , windy, and raining hard enough to call the cows home. I could hear him splashing all around saying, "Ack, Ugh", and BRRRRRR when he got out.
Give it up for 24 hours. The sun will come out tomorrow and the temperature will go up.
