Nope, not me. Not in 34 years. Not even when I had to walk home (2 miles) and shovel my way into my front door in the blizzard of 78.

Just me I guess.

How about when there's two feet of snow lying in the ground out in L.I., the wind is howling and roaring, the night is dark and gloomy, the roads are slippery, cars are dropping off the LIE, vehicles are stuck and their passengers stranded for hours, the snow plows are running out of salt, trees have fallen, power is out, the radio is dead, slush is knee-high,...don't you even then wish you were in your Florida lanai sipping some pina colada or tropical kool aid?

Or sitting by a pool in a swimsuit? I know that I wish I were at those times...well of course, not in my swimsuit since that is as dated as the blizzard of '78, but at least I wish I was at a pool feeling the warm Florida sunshine, seeing the palm trees sway, feeling a lovely breeze....and watching the girls shed their heavy duty apparel to enjoy that tropical atmosphere.

Well you better get down there quick... I believe they're scrapping the Shuttle Program... Last I heard September of next year is the last launch.... Not that there won't be other occasional rockets going up from the Cape, but.....

When I lived in Melbourne/Rockledge, I made it a point to watch every launch. It was humbling to watch history like that, it's one of the best things in FL I have done was watch shuttle launches from my yard. Something you don't forget. Some people take it for granted, but for people who have never seen it, I wish they could.

I lived in Florida briefly as a kid, but mostly have lived in NC (but vacation every year in Florida - ha ha, guess where?).

At any rate, my husband and I (and son) would like to move down there next year (after finding jobs of course) and I'm basically getting obsessed with it. Scouring craigslist for rental places and job ads every day and our lease here in NC doesn't even run out until next May. I need help, I know...

I just moved to Vancouver for school and miss Florida terribly! It's beautiful here too, but i just miss feeling the sun shining on my shoulders and feeling completely exhausted, sun burnt and drenched in sweat after an intense run. Little things like walking around my neighborhood with my family on breezy summer nights listening to the crickets.I miss Publix and taking my car to go anywhere I wanted, morning drives to school with blasting music. Lively beaches. Orange and purple sunsets...

I miss Florida so much. I lived there for ten years (juno beach) and made myself believe that I was bored w/ it and sick of the heat. I drove cross country to Breckenridge colorado and have lived here for 5 yrs and I miss Florida. Unfortunately, my boyfriend of ten yrs moved to colorado w/ me and he loves it. He does not want to move back to florida so I just dream of going back some day. I miss the beautiful beach ofcourse and the awesome restaurants. I am originally from newyork and Florida has lots of newyorkers w/ personalities and great senses of humor. Colorado is beautiful and the people are fine but just very mellow and guarded. Florida was a very easy life style and there is a lot to discover there, oh and the keys!!!! I miss the beautiful keywest vacations I took. Grass is not always greener

I have lived in Pensacola, FL my entire life but have been considering moving due to the poor job market here. I've been unemployed for nearly 2 years and hate being in this boat as I have always had a good and stable job history. I'm looking to move to Columbus, OH which is also where I was born and have some family up there. I've thought about moving there in the past and applied for a few jobs just to test the waters and I always get a phone call for a interview in my field. I've applied for hundreds of jobs here mostly out of my field (there is no IT market here) and never get a single call. It's nuts!

In short... I'm mostly going to miss Pensacola because of my memories and the sunny warm weather. I think I will also miss the beaches but I haven't been to the beaches in years (despite being a few minutes away) I will also miss my family here, but most of the family has moved away and I don't even have any friends here. It's time for a change.

Good luck to all of those considering Florida.

I have lived in 9 us states. I miss the Florida the most. I miss the sky at night so clear and crisp with a million stars! I miss the smell and sound of the ocean and being so close to it. I miss the tropical breezes and the sound of night with the cicadas singing. I miss the green sucky frogs ( T don't know what they are called lol my kids used to call them sucky frogs ) that used to crawl up the windows and the color changing salamanders that were everywhere and the occaisional armadillo crossing the road. Oh and lets not forget the amazingly warm rainstorms. That about covers it!
