Does anyone else miss Florida?
Have any of you moved away from Florida, and can't wait to get back? Miss it? What do you miss the most?

Yea, I miss it alot...lived there in Port Orange, then in Green Cove Springs. I was down there for about 13-14 years. I miss my friends and going to church at the LDS Ward on Fleming Island with my friend. I love where I live now but so much heartache has happened here. I may someday return, who knows. I miss the warm weather alot especially when it's snowing or sleeting like this morning...yuck.

I miss it terribly. After 24 years its hard to just dismiss a place, even if you thought you hated that place at one time. I miss my friends and family. I miss the weather, the beach, the sun the palmtrees, CHEAPER way of life. I miss being able to just throw on shorts, a shirt flip flops and go out the door. I miss things to actually do whether it be Ft. Myers Beach, an Everblades game, the festivals or just sitting at a tiki hut or resturant on the water and relaxing . I miss having radio stations to choose from instead of 3, or not having to worry about moving the next town over casue they dont' get cable or internet in that town. I miss not having to register my car, or get it inspected or wait for the snow plow to come out so I can actually get onto the street. I've found it takes a lot less time to cool down a car than it does to heat one up IF you can get it started in the cold . I miss need ONE pair of tires for my car, and not having to worry if I have more than a quarter tank of gas in my car so it doesn't freeze overnight. Or going through a gallon of windshield wiper fluid a week from all the nastiness kicked back up on the windshields. By the way I think I forgot what color my car is.. Its a pretty greyish whitish haze right now.. Yeah I miss clean cars!!!!
I'm going back in 3 months and it seems like a lifetime away.. I'm sure once I start packing though I'll be complaining I don't have enough time!

Yep, mine is supposed to be red, but it's a two tone reddish top and salt white redish look on the bottom... I just said tonight, the first thing I do when I get there is WASH THE HECK OUT OF THIS CAR!!!

I miss it and don't even live there yet.
After 26 year of dreaming of moving to Florida we have finally made the choice to move to Florida in less then 2 years.
We still today get a pit in our stomach once we are backing out of our driveway and heading to Florida.
We miss everything that Florida has to offer.
I fly into a couple cities on business during the month and usually dont have time to hit the beach like I would like, but then back out I go. When I get home I miss it allot, the warmth, the smell, the look, the history, the beaches, the laid back way of life and so much more.
Congrats on your move back to Florida.
My entire family thinks of Florida on a daily basis and we cannot wait to move.

Missing FL too
We lived in Port Charlotte back in 97-98 but had to move back to Northern IN for family and work reasons. We get down there at least once a year but it never seems enough. I have several friends in Sarasota and Tampa area that I keep in touch with on a regular basis. We hope to move back in 2-3 years but that all depends on the situation with jobs, HOI, property taxes, etc. FL has changed a lot since we lived down there. I think jobs won't be an issue since we both work in healthcare but the other items...I have my fingers crossed.

Still here in Florida
Sometimes, I hear negative things and it makes me feel sad. Recently, my husband and I saw Atonement at the movies. The scenes from the war (WWII) were so realistic and sad. I left the movie and was so glad to come home and be in my cozy neighborhood in South Florida! The weather had a slight breeze and it was one of those nights where you could just be outside all night.
I am so grateful to be here.
