Yes, that is true, however, Florida is where the drugs come in by plane, boat or float....You can get two rocks for $20 in my town...up north in PA that would cost you $100. So you see, it's easier cheaper to be a drug addict here.....the dealers in Florida make over $100K a year and pay no income tax...their income tax is paid when they have the possibility of getting arrested during either the spring indictments or the fall...which, of course, facilitates the new blood on the block.
It's been a real experience living here since 1991...I've seen the cows leave the land and the condominiums replace the farm.
Just before you come over the Manatee Avenue Bridge to Holmes Beach, they are putting in 42 condominium buildings called Seven Springs. Not to mention the homes....guess what? Manatee Avenue is only a two lane road from there to the beach.......what a congestion it will be when it's time to evacuate.....Gulf drive on Holmes beach is like a 5 or 6 in regards to where it stands on density...there is just no more room!.....We bought a 100x125 foot lot on Tampa Bay on Anna Maria Island back in 1992 for $319K....we bought it from a couple who paid $85K in 1988...now, that same size lot is going for 2 million.....go figure!
I do realize these types of things are everywhere but you know, Florida is a "resort" state just as the beach towns in GA, N/S Carolina...anywhere coastal & touristy......
A lot of attitude comes in with the tourists....they don't care, they're only here a few weeks or months...and yes, they're a pain in the ass but they support our economy....what are we to do?
