Default What's it like to live in Spring Hill or Mount Dora?

Hi Guy's

We will be relocating to Florida within the next 18 months and we have been trying to research areas on the internet.

We think we will settle in Naples because we love the town so much and vacation there every year so we know our way around and it would be an easy relocation but we have checked out other areas and Spring Hill and Mount Dora look very nice.

We will be taking a 3 week vacation this year so we will have one week to check out some of the more northerly towns before we head off down to Naples.

We will be very grateful for any assistance you can offer.

Lee

I moved from NY to Spring Hill in November, I like it, I am happy with the schools, Hernando County, There are some nice homes for sale, and for rent. The people are friendly and it is quiet.

The western part of Hernando County is Spring Hill, Weeki Wachee, Hernando Beach and the Royal Highlands.
Most parts are a nice area to raise a family.
I have been happy with the schools also.
The area is a mixture of rural and suburb with some areas being a little to densely populated for my liking but not densely populated like Miami or Ft.Lauderdale or Orlando but on the other hand you have lots of wide open spaces also.
For recreation you of course have the Gulf of Mexico, thousands of acres of preserve land for hiking and biking, Weeki Wachee River for tubing or canoeing, soccer leagues, baseball leagues, footbal, lacrosse, hockey (in Pasco) and more.
If you read up in these forums you will come across those that like it and those that don't. If you are looking for big nightlife it is not here but there are restaurants and small clubs and Tampa is 45 minutes away.
If I can answer any questions feel free to ask.

We are hoping we will like Spring Hill - Marco Island is for the very rich and there are lots of snobby people here. We want to make friends our age (50) and enjoy a nice community. Is that Spring Hill
