WE are looking to buy a modular home for retirement in the Port Orange, Daytona beach, Ormond Beach area and see some of the lot rentals are say $499 mnth not including any utilities. and $579 including water, sewer, trash, lawn care. Would this be a good price with central air and electric heat? Also need a super fast internet, any suggestions? And lastly, is Verizon Fios avallible here?

ATT and Brighthouse are here. Both have high speed internet available. I switched from ATT to Brighthouse about a month ago and they had a special on 100 Mbit and 50 Mbit internet. I went with 50 Mbit and on speed tests I get 20 Mbit down and 13 Mbit up. I live beachside where copper wire is corroded in 5years, so you may get better real performance on the mainland.

Mobile homes are incredibly cheap down here. What you need to be careful of is your electric bill. I hear folks in mobile home can spend $300+ a month on AC in the summer. My electric bills for a 4 bedroom SFH are half that. When you add up the utilities and land rent, you may be better off buying a cement block bungalow.
