Check the webcam in Pcola....
Tuesday night lows will range from the mid 30s to near 40 on the coast. Another cold front moves through the second half of Wednesday, and the numbers will drop again. After a Wednesday high of 65, Thursday and Friday will see highs in the 50s, and Friday morning should be back into the 20s. ![]() http://www.weartv.com/newsroom/wx/cams.shtml |

Thats impossible! 18 degrees? ![]() I checked the other websites and none of them are predicting this low. They say Thursday's lows will be right around 30, just barely into the freezing. Friday night will be between 25 and 30 degrees. The high is nice, 60s to low 70s, typical of Florida "winter" I checked Oil city and it has a low of 18 degrees(not unusual, its in PA) with a high of 25 on that day! The next few days will see a high of 40 due to global warming, even the winter high is no longer at freezing and any snow will be gone by noon! If I get snowed in, ill just wait till noon for it to melt away! |

N_A_H you are so funny! Why can't you believe it gets that cold in The Panhandle???!!! Not that 20 is THAT cold! Follow ND weather for awhile & then talk about cold...! But The Panhandle is NORTH! It's southern Bammy for cryin' out loud!
It ain't been too cold here praise the lord!!!!!!!!! Got to 69 for a low but it's been in the 80's everyday & 70's at night so I can't complain. (even though I'd prefer 100+!!!!!!!!!!) And by the way, to all of you who want it cold...(and I mean this with all due respect & humor...) Moderator cut: bad language ![]() |

LOL you prefer 100 degrees? Id like to see you go a week in a Miami summer without any a/c, not even a/c in the hot, hot, hot car! I turn the a/c when its 80 degrees! The panhandle is still Florida and mentally, I associate Florida with tropical paradise
it feels like im on the moon when it gets to freezing! ![]() |

Snow is a rare occurrence in Florida. During the Great Blizzard of 1899, Florida experienced blizzard conditions. During that time, the Tampa Bay Area had "gulf-effect" snow, similar to lake-effect snow.[citation needed] The Great Blizzard of 1899 is the only time the temperature in the state is known to have fallen below 0 degrees Fahrenheit (−18 °C). The most widespread snowfall in Florida history happened in February 1978, when snow fell over much of the state in different times of the month, as far south as Homestead. Snow flurries fell on Miami Beach for the only time in recorded history. 1982's "Cold Sunday," which saw freezing conditions throughout much of the country, ruined that year's orange crops. In 1989, a severe hard freeze created lots of ice and also caused minor flurries in sections of the state and resulted in rolling blackouts from power failures caused by massive demands on the power grid for heating. A hard freeze in 2003 brought "ocean-effect" snow flurries to the Atlantic coast as far south as Cape Canaveral. [4] The 1993 Superstorm brought blizzard conditions to the panhandle, while heavy rain and tornadoes beset the peninsula. The storm is believed to have been similar in composition to a hurricane, and even brought storm surges of six feet or more to regions of the Gulf coast. |

The first time I ever traveled to Florida was in 1983.
This was South Florida, Boca Raton. There was a vicious cold snap and all the trees and plants were shriveled and blackened. It happens. NAH, it can get cold up here. Funny how so many think the state of Florida has uniform weather. It is a large state and obviously there are different regions and different climates. But many people do not realize that, all of our friends and relations in Colorado think that Florida is one big Miami. ![]() |
