we are renting right now near landstar and osceola rd. do not like this area for all of the traffic in and out of our neighborhood. we would like a house outside orlando a little ways, with lower crime than orlando. we both work hunters creek/kissimmee loop area. so thinking south of orlando. we were looking at davenport, maybe st cloud. any help would be greatly appreciated

Davenport would probably be a little too far, since you would have to commute on I-4 which is a traffic nightmare getting through the Disney area. St. Cloud isn't bad. Depending on your budget, I would recommend Lake Nona to the east of where you are now. It's not a cheap area, but a very desirable place to live and it's definitely up and coming. It would be a quick commute on 417 over to Hunters Creek from there too.

Saint Cloud is nice. It used to be kind of a redneck farming town but is slowly changing. Take a closer look at it. Be careful of some of the nice looking areas in Orlando,as you are aware they are usually very close to the high crime neighborhoods.

Worse yet, some actually ARE high crime neighborhoods. Lots of Pine Hills actually LOOKS good.
