I hope the impact of Matthew won't be too bad, but I'm quite fearful it will.

I'll be emailing my US representatives telling them this Texan demands Florida gets immediate assistance.

Remain strong Florida.

Thank you for your kind thoughts. I feel for the folks in the direct path of Matthew, pray for their safety, and know the rebuilding process will be long and arduous. But they will get there.

Default Katrina survivor

My prayers are with you. Please, if they tell you to leave, leave. Nothing you own is worth your life.

You could pray, or you could just evacuate when they say to. See which works better :-)

Thank you.

Getting wind gusts here; the sky is that unhappy gray/white color.

This morning we still had s few patches of blue. Sporadic showers .

I look forward to seeing blue skies again!

Or you could do both.

I live in Texas, so why would I evacuate?

Even with insurance, those whose homes are damaged will have a lot to go through.

People who are paid hourly, will have an impact to their income.

First responders will not evacuate.

Utility workers will be dealing with dangerous downed power lines.

Zoos, aquariums and animal sanctuaries can evacuate most of the animals.

But go ahead and be a sarcastic turd if you choose.

Thinking about all Floridians caught in Matthew's very unforgiving embrace tonight and tomorrow, and hoping that you and yours are all able to stay safe and that there is minimal mess to clean up afterward.
